Routes
All routes will start and end at Schreiner University this year. There is no mass start; start whenever is convenient for you. Friday, April 10th, all 3 distances follow the Bike Route out of Kerrville to Sheppard-Rees to Ingram before branching off for a return trip or continuing North for a metric century. Saturday’s rides will offer 5 distances, with all rides going to the SouthSouthWest. Everyone will exit Kerrville, cross the river and continue on Hwy 16 toward Medina. Saturday is Century Day with a 107 mile ride to Vanderpool. While there is no mass start on Saturday, there will be a traffic control officer giving cyclists the right of way between 8-10am on Hwy 27 and the Schreiner exit and also on Hwy 173 turning into Riverhills. On Sunday, the rides are a little shorter and travel toward Comfort on some back roads to the East-Southeast.

Maps will be included in your package. There will be limited signage on the routes, so plan on reading your map or riding with someone who can read a map. There will be a "sweep" on each route, but they will only be sweeping designated routes.

SAG vehicles will be available on all routes and will have an air pump, patch kits, and tubes for purchase but please do not expect SAG vehicle drivers to "fix" your bike. In the event of serious mechanical breakdown, it might be necessary to be transported back to a rest stop or to Schreiner. We do plan on having a bike shop mechanic on the Schreiner campus Friday and Saturday morning and at the first rest stop on Friday and Saturday.

Rest Stops will be approximately every 13 to 17 miles. The distances will be marked on your cue ride sheet. They will be providing water, sport drink, fruit, salty and sweet snacks and porta potties. The rest stop hours will be listed on the ride map. Please plan ahead.

These routes include some of the best riding in the state of Texas. They provide all terrain challenges, rides along the rivers, vistas from the top of hills, quiet country roads that you share with other riders and the cows and chickens, and some years there are fields of bluebonnets for as far as you can see. Come and find out why those who come to ride the EHCBT, keep coming back year after year.
